Surf resorts like Latitude Zero face unique demands for outdoor wellness: equipment must withstand relentless ocean spray, salt corrosion, intense equatorial sun, and high humidity without any cover.
The team specifically needed a cold plunge that could sit uncovered right by the beach, with a chiller engineered for harsh marine conditions, reliable performance for fatigued surfers returning from all-day sessions on heavy reefs.
The Solution
We collaborated with Latitude Zero to deliver marine-grade teak ice baths optimized for exposed coastal use.
Fully waterproof construction with 316 stainless steel hardware, UV-resistant varnish, and sealed electricals
High-capacity outdoor chiller (1.5 HP titanium heat exchanger) proven in saltwater environments
Compact, portable design for easy relocation if needed (e.g., for events or tides)
Installed on existing beach decking for seamless integration
The resorts’ on-site team built complementary wooden steps around each unit for safe, elevated access post-surf.
Timeline
Early 2024 – Initial contact for Nusa Tenggara; tested outdoor chiller performance
Mid-2024 – First ice bath shipped from Bali and installed at Nusa Tenggara
Late 2024 – Based on success, second unit ordered and shipped for Telo Islands
Both operational since early 2025
Results & Client Feedback
Both ice baths maintain 6–8 °C consistently, even uncovered in full tropical exposure
Extremely popular with surfers: used daily as a recovery ritual after morning-to-sunset sessions, reducing soreness and boosting next-day energy
No corrosion or downtime reported in the harsh ocean-side conditions
Enhanced the resorts’ wellness appeal, drawing repeat bookings from wave-chasers seeking that “perfect post-surf reset”
