The Challenge
The Meru approached Icebaths.com after noticing increasing guest demand for cold therapy and contrast wellness experiences. Although the hotel had a beautiful spa, it did not yet offer a dedicated ice bath or sauna. Together, we identified an underused massage room that could be transformed into a high-impact wellness feature.
The Solution
We designed and installed a premium teak ice bath and a matching dry sauna to complement the hotel’s existing natural-wood aesthetic. Because The Meru pays close attention to visual harmony, we engineered several custom elements to ensure a completely seamless look:
- Custom teak steps leading into the ice bath
- Chiller system placed discreetly beneath the steps to keep all technical components hidden
- Material and finish matched precisely to the tones of the room’s existing woodwork
Optimised layout to maximise flow within a small room while maintaining a high-end spa atmosphere
The result is a clean, minimal, spa-grade contrast therapy room that looks like it has always been part of the hotel’s original design.
Impact
The wellness room has become one of the most popular features at The Meru. On average, over 30 guests per day now use the sauna and ice bath, transforming an unused space into one of the hotel’s top guest experiences.
The installation has also become a strong marketing asset for the hotel:
- Guests frequently tag The Meru while using the room
- Daily Instagram Story exposure has amplified the hotel’s online visibility
- The new amenity has strengthened The Meru’s reputation as a forward-thinking wellness destination
Conclusion
By combining natural materials, precise engineering, and discreet installation, Icebaths.com helped The Meru create a signature wellness experience that enhances guest satisfaction and aligns perfectly with the hotel’s architectural identity. The transformation of a simple massage room into a luxury contrast therapy space demonstrates how intelligently designed wellness solutions can elevate both guest experience and brand perception.
