How we stabilize every surface before sanding begins.

Even with our meticulous sourcing standards, wood is a natural material — and nature isn’t always predictable.

At the selection stage, every plank appears flawless. But once shaping begins and we cut deeper into the grain, hidden imperfections can emerge. These might include knots, micro-cracks, or voids that only reveal themselves once the bath is taking form.

Because we sand every surface to a fine, uniform finish, every square inch must be structurally sound and visually seamless. That’s why we inspect each unit post-shaping and identify any areas that don’t meet our standards.

When needed, we remove compromised sections and fill them using our proprietary stabilization blend — a carefully developed mixture of teak sawdust and high-performance epoxy. This compound is color-matched to the original wood and, once cured, offers a solid, sandable surface that integrates almost invisibly into the piece.

The result is a bath that not only looks perfect — but is fully stabilized and ready for the next stage: precision sanding.
