WOOD

SOURCING MATTERS.

Why we choose the wood we do — and why it makes all the difference.

After testing countless species over more than a year, we chose Teak — a wood revered in Indonesia for centuries. Traditionally used in Javanese homes, Teak is unmatched in its strength, durability, and resistance to the elements.

But not all Teak is created equal.

The species, where it's grown, the age of the tree, and even which part of the tree it's cut from — each factor plays a crucial role in the final quality. That’s why we only use sustainably sourced Teak from the highlands of Central Java. The climate and rich soil here produce denser, darker wood with a more refined finish — ideal for both aesthetic and performance.

We obsess over every detail — how the wood is aged, dried, and finished — so your ice bath isn’t just beautiful, but built to last in any environment.

Precision Drying with
Vacuum Kiln Technology.

Why advanced wood drying makes all the difference.

Teak is naturally durable — but only if it’s treated right.

Most wood used in outdoor products is either air-dried or conventionally kiln-dried. These methods reduce surface moisture, but deep inside, the pores remain open. That means once it’s exposed to the elements, the wood can reabsorb water — leading to warping, cracking, or rot over time.

We take a different approach.

To ensure optimal quality, Icebaths.com uses high-frequency vacuum kiln technology — one of the most advanced wood drying systems available today.

This innovative machine dries wood from the inside out by combining electromagnetic waves with vacuum pressure.

WHAT MAKES IT BETTER?

  • Stable, Long-Lasting Wood

By lowering the boiling point of water to just 55°C (131°F), the vacuum process allows moisture to be removed gently. This reduces internal stress and significantly minimizes the risk of cracking or warping over time.

  • Closed Internal Pores

Unlike conventional methods, this technique collapses the wood’s internal pores — making it much less likely to reabsorb moisture when exposed to outdoor environments.

  • Natural Pest Protection

The high-frequency energy eliminates insects, larvae, and fungi embedded deep within the wood, without the need for chemical treatments.

  • A Better Finish, That Lasts

Drier, more stable wood allows for a smoother, more even application of finishes. Oils and sealants penetrate deeper, resulting in a surface that not only looks superior but also endures longer.

Cut With Absolute Precision

Cut once. Perfectly

Once our teak is dried to below 5% moisture content, we move to the next critical stage: cutting.

We use SCM industrial machinery — imported from Italy and considered the gold standard in precision woodworking. These machines operate at tolerances as fine as 0.001mm. That level of accuracy isn’t just impressive — it’s essential.

It means every component of the ice bath fits perfectly, without the need for a single screw. Just wood, flawlessly joined. The result is more than just a clean aesthetic — it’s an engineering achievement.

A structure this refined doesn’t happen by chance. It happens by design.
